The Carlyle

The Carlyle is a luxury 39-story high-rise condominium building overlooking both the Minneapolis skyline and the Mississippi river. DF/ designed the 5th floor amenity deck that sits outside the indoor fitness facility. The intensive green roof space is a very popular spot during the hot summer months. The deisng includes a 18’ x 52’ pool, hot tub with glass water wall, fire pit, arbor, cabanas and lush plantings enclosed with low limestone landscape walls. An outdoor kitchen and bar provides additional fun. Coordination with the building’s architects and structural engineers was critical to ensure a high integrity waterproofing system. Set in a historic district of downtown, approvals with the Historic Preservation Commission was needed to ensure conformity. The amenity deck is now an important feature in marketing the project to prospective condominium owners.
