Spring Lake Regional Park

Prior Lake, Minnesota

In collaboration with Scott County Parks and the Three Rivers Park District, Damon Farber Landscape Architects was selected to implement the long master-planned lakefront zone of Spring Lake Regional Park, with the highly anticipated opening taking place in June of 2024. Damon Farber led the consultant team of architects and engineers, engaging with county residents through public open houses to gather input on their hopes, concerns, and preferred plans for the park improvements. The lakeside amenities, designed to maximize the lake's use and take in the stunning views, include an elevated overlook, shoreline platforms, a fishing pier, a kayak launch, and picnic pads. The project created new lakefront trails that loop around the lakefront zone of the park and connect across highway 12 to the north end of the park. The parking lot was sized for the park and the future park building. The project also prioritized natural resource preservation, protecting two on-site wetlands, preserving desirable hardwood and softwood trees, and reintroducing native species as part of the site’s restoration.
