In the News!

July 12, 2017

Damon Farber’s Joan Macleod was recently acknowledged in the Star Tribune for her work with Break the Silence, an organization dedicated to “creating a world where survivors can freely tell their stories and be met with validation, trauma-informed support, and solidarity.”  The Star Tribune continued to write that “Break the Silence has been leading the effort since 2015 with the help of a design team that includes Joan MacLeod of Damon Farber Landscape Architects and mosaic artist Lori Greene. The Park Board asked the group to complete fundraising and bring a final design for review by mid-August.” The site will include a circle of benches that welcome survivors to a place of healing and discussion. The site will also include a mosaic installation that symbolizes the idea that many broken pieces can create something beautiful.
