ASLA Parking Day – 2017
In a huge collaborative volunteer effort, ASLA MN created a 130 foot long temporary park in Minneapolis’s North Loop – for one day only. Park(ing) Day is an annual, worldwide event that highlights the importance of public open space by temporarily transforming street parking stalls into PARKS (see this link for more – https://asla.org/contentdetail.aspx?id=46872) . Liz is on the board of ASLA MN, and she helped pull the team together to complete the park. Over 200 plants were donated from Bachmans, and benches and other parts of the park were loaned or donated from many different manufacturers and offices. We think the finished park was a huge success, with neighbors asking why the park was only around for one day.
